The Housing Authority of the City of Morgantown (MHA) which serves the City of Morgantown has been managed by FHA since 1986. In 212, the pending merger of these two agencies will create The Fairmont-Morgantown Housing Authority (FMHA). FMHA is a federally funded agency that serves the communities of Marion, Monongalia, Taylor and Preston counties.
FMHA offers a variety of services including low income rental assistance, a family self-sufficiency program, a lease-to-purchase program, mortgage origination services, housing rehabilitation, counseling, foreclosure counseling, Homebuyer Education classes, Post Purchase Education classes, a homeowner preservation program and down payment assistance program.
The Mission of the Fairmont-Morgantown Housing Authority is to assist low-income families with safe, decent, and affordable housing opportunities as they strive to achieve self-sufficiency and improve the quality of their lives.
